Beauty is Deceiving

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

This photo was enhanced by software. It is a photo of smoke.

The first time I looked at this photo, I was stunned with the wonderful color and shape. It was all so natural and beautiful.
Then I started to think about the smoke as the object of this photo...
Could it be the smoke of a cigar?
How could this beauty cause death to so many people slowly but sure?

That's when I came up with the title - Beauty is Deceiving.

What about you? What do you think about this beautiful photo?

That is very deceptive. I thought it looked like a thin, silky fabric that was thrown in the air and was photographed while falling to the ground. Maybe enhanced, or just colorful.

The smoke could be from incense, or a peaceful aromatherapy candle that was just blown out. Then it can be beautiful without being deceptive.

Hi kikolani, you're right... I think the only deceptive thing in the world is our own mind...
